I want it to do something like this:
Basically when the user selects to open a .txt  file
i want to execute note pad but i want to load the txt file in note pad. how can this be done?

Captian, oh captian... the titles of your postings always have some drama in them. Let's see... How would you open a .txt file manually in notepad? By launching notepad.exe with your file name as an argument. How can you launch notepad in FPC? By launching/executing an external program. But I have a question for you: why do you keep using the NEW TOPIC button of this forum instead of Google search?
