hm...I can understand that you want to see vertical lines, but columns ?!? how do you want
to represent visible column in synedit ?

SynEdit.LinesInWindow
SynEdit.CharsInWindow

LinesInWindow excludes the last half visible line

CharsInWindow probably similar, but I would have to check
Some chars (tabs, Chinese) take up more than one column)
