I would like to play with (implement?) grid compilation for my college's final assignment. I would like to know the possibility to implement it for FPC. Right know, AFAIK only Sun Studio SDK has this capability.

For this I think you will have the same or similar issues as for a multithreadded compiler. Better ask this on the fpc-devel list.
