Is there a guide to the contents of the .lazarus or %AppData%\Lazarus directory?

There are files there like environmentoptions.xml, includelinks.xml etc.
I am having some problems described at http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,8566.msg41393.html#msg41393 and http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,8608.msg42181.html

Is there some way modifying the contents of some of these files will help?

Is there a list of all the configuration files used by the Lazarus IDE so I can learn about how Lazarus works?
