Taskbar Buttons Lost in Windows XP!
« on: February 25, 2005, 01:12:02 pm »
I experience a rather disturbing problem when using Lazarus under WinXP.

In some projects when I save the project and then build and run it, the programs button disappears from the windows taskbar!

Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening? Does it have to do with the "Project"->"Save project" menu command?

Thank you for your time.

The thing is that when I click on the minimize button the taskbar button appears!!!???!?!

Is there any possibility that it has to do with the lfm code of my form, because I've noticed that when I create a new project and add the form from the problematic project to the new one the problem appears to the new project as well, whereas, when I create a totally new project everythin works fine!

Does anyone know when this problem appears (meaning if it happens randomly or because of something I do)?

I've experienced the same problem with one of my projects.  The only things that I can see that I've done differently from other projects is that I've resized the original form, and also at one stage I had it calling a second form, which I later decided to remove from the project.

Given that it's possible to make the taskbar button appear by minimising, and it's still possible to switch to the program using Alt-Tab, this is more of an annoyance than a major problem, but I would still like to know how to fix it.

This is a problem with WinXP with no SP/SP1 especially in low memory conditions, happens randomly especially on windows with some styles, however it seems to happen more with Laz since the linker has high memory requirements.
