Hello,
After upgrading to macOS 27, debugging with LLDB no longer works in the IDE.
Setup:
- macOS 27, Apple Silicon (aarch64-darwin-cocoa)
- Lazarus 4.8 (lazarus_4_8, built 2026-09-24 with fpcupdeluxe), FPC 3.2.2
- lldb-2103.0.34.103 (/usr/bin/lldb, Command Line Tools)
Symptoms:
- The breakpoint is hit and the IDE shows the execution line.
- After that, Step over / Step into / Run do nothing (via menu or shortcut).
Only Stop works, and only after a delay.
- The debugged application shows as "not responding" (normal while paused).
- Side effect: the debugged app does not get keyboard focus at startup
(no caret until I click outside and back).
Reproduced with a minimal new project (one button, two lines in OnClick).
Tried:
- "LLDB debugger (with fpdebug)" and "LLDB Debugger (Alpha)": same result
- Dwarf 2, Dwarf 2 with sets, Dwarf 3: same result
- Closed Locals, Watches, Call stack and History windows: same result
- "settings set show-statusline false" in ~/.lldbinit: same result
lldb alone in Terminal works fine on the same binary
(breakpoint set -f unit1.pas -l 34, run, next: all OK).
Running without debugger from the IDE works fine.
Debugging worked before the macOS 27 upgrade.
Log attached, created with:
--debug-log=laz.log --debug-enable=DBG_CMD_ECHO,DBG_STATE,DBG_VERBOSE,DBG_WARNINGS,DBG_ERRORS,DBG_EVENTS
What I see in the log: after the break, the Locals command reads memory
for a long time, several "Got Data, but no command running" lines appear,
my Step commands are never queued, and the Stop command is queued early
but only runs after Locals finishes.
Thank you for any help.
