BS Controls – Silly Component Suite for Lazarus & Delphi

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to release an enhancement from BS PanelTrans which named BS Controls, a native component package for Lazarus (LCL) and Delphi (VCL) designed inspired by the sleek WinUI Hero. BS Controls in fully handcoded and adjusted to run on Lazarus and Delphi.

Unlike wrapper helpers in BS PanelTrans, BS Controls consists of 14 true custom components (13 visual controls + 1 non-visual manager) descending directly from TCustomControl.

🚀 What's Included (14 Components):

• Inputs: TSBCEdit, TBSMaskEdit (with focus-sensing bottom border & embedded Unicode/Wide char action button), TBSCMemo, TBSCComboBox, TBSCSpinEdit, and TBSCSpinEditFloat. Note: Control does not keep Text in designing.
• Selectors: TBSCCheckBox and TBSCRadioButton.
• Buttons: TBSCButton, TBSCBitBtn, TBSCSpeedButton, and TBSCToolBar.
• Containers: TBSCGroupBox.
• Management: TBSCManager (non-visual component for global theme).

🎨 A Simpler Approach to Theming:
BS Controls component packs does not rely on complex styling engines, it takes a cleaner, more straightforward path by implementing monochromatic theming. By leveraging just three core properties (Color, Font Color, and IsDark) manageable centrally via TBSCManager, you get crisp, modern adaptation without the overhead of external style sheets or heavy parsers.

Thanks to LRS Explorer, BS Controls now shows component icons properly in component palette.
Please, replace bscontrols.lrs in source folder with attached file.

Thanks for the component, but why don't you use a free VCS to share the code (GitHub / GitLab / Codeberg / SourceForge)? I think that would be more convenient for both you and your users - the latest code would always be in one place, whereas now you have to search for the right post with the latest version.

Hi, @paweld. Thanks for your message and thank you for great suggestion.

However, I will assume myself as a lazy person to setup and/or maintain my work in versioning services. Afterall, BS Controls is just a silly component pack which I create to help me provide themable common UI elements for my applications in silly way: monochrome. There are already plenty and better component packs.

Perhaps, I am the only one who use BS Controls: https://sites.google.com/site/bsprograms/the-programs. I have a intention, though, BS Controls could inspire newbies like me that we can make use of standard controls to be a little pretty.
