So, I think that we need a viral youtube video showing how to build an amazing program with an amazing user interface. Even if the user interface is made for a web browser (html/javascript) and the backend is FPC based, it would be good.

BTW, the more I think, the more I like having browser based UI with an FPC based backend.

Well, I’m an old guy too—turning 50 this year. But I’m currently taking my software backend to the next level. I come from a background of 25 years with Delphi and spent a long time evaluating which language to use for my backend. In the end, it came down to a choice between Golang and FreePascal. I ultimately chose FPC—it offers extensive platform support and superb performance. My Backend is also built on mormot2. Claude and Codex have a very good understanding of FPC, too. That is how I managed to handle the massive porting effort. We aren't talking about some small piece of software here; this is a massive product. I’ve been working on it for six months now, and I haven’t regretted the decision. The frontend is React.

What would need to happen for development to pick up steam again? Where do the core developers' interests lie?

I haven’t tested this yet ( https://github.com/fpc-unleashed ), but it would probably blow the community wide open.
