I am not able to explain: I just like projects like this ...

What is the 3d or game engine in use?

The game uses direct access to OpenGL and OpenAL.

When I made this decision, the goal was to have fun In development, so I avoided a game engine.

I recommend Castle Engine for new developers that prefer ease over fun.
