I have a question about spiders...

Obviously we do want spiders such as the ones from Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing and others to scrape the forums in order to index it and make the information available to anyone who searches for it.

My question is: do those spiders (the ones that are good netizens) get somehow identified so they can scrape the site without Anubis getting in their way ?

According to the Anubis site they should get passed

Don't you have a Google search console for devlopers? So you can see of the forum is indexed correctly by Google?

According to that link, Google doesn't seem to index the forum anymore since Anubis is active.

For example, the recent topic about portable FPC should be at the top if you search it. But it is nowhere to be found on Google.

https://www.google.com/search?q=Portable+verion+of+FPC+and+Lazarus&ie=UTF-8
and
https://www.google.com/search?q=Portable+verion+of+FPC+and+Lazarus+site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fforum.lazarus.freepascal.org

(yes, there was a typo in that topic title)

searching for "search console for devlopers" gets me one hit this topic, on DuckDuckGo, is that a DuckWack ?

My Internet connection is through my phone, which I sometimes tether... anyway, a month or so ago I found myself unable to access this wiki.

Using a borrowed wifi hotspot, I have been able to get on just fine. But I still can't connect if I use mobile data.

My carrier is T-Mobile. I've tried it with three different browsers, and it still doesn't work. I've read here about Anubis blocking. How do I ask Anubis to let me connect? Or tell T-Mobile what to fix to make it whitelisted with Anubis?

I really don't want to have to buy an extra ISP account just to make it possible for me to access Lazarus Help files and other benefits of the wiki.

I'm sorry, but the wiki is hosted on a server the freepascal team manages. I don't know what blocking rules are installed there.

Hi

My carrier is T-Mobile.
Methinks the problem lies there, because I've been accessing forum & wiki for over 7 years via / through my Xiaomi's hotspot, which with 5G is blazing fast...
Mind you, I live in Denmark, but I think the wireless technology is pretty much the same, from country to country...  %)

Try to use one of the free VPN (like proton vpn) when accessing WIKI.

Not free, but relatively cheap. Windows 11 comes with a free one.

And they apparently take managing the wiki host as seriously as they take release management.

You mean the wiki we all know we have to check for correctness? I gave up, but it is still valuable.
(Although it should be moderated, too much nonsense)

Before you write - or adapt - a wiki entry, plz consult on the forum first. <sigh>
I have seen entries being mutilated by nitwits. A lot.. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( <endless anger  O:-) O:-) >
