Lazpaint: Main window darkens when dialog box is open making preview hard

Hi, I am using Lazpaint 7.3 64 bit, running in OS: Linux, Debian 13 Trixie.  Whenever I open any dialog box in Lazpaint, for example, Colours > Brightness/Contrast, the main Lazpaint window darkens or is dimmed whilst the dialog box is normal coloured. This makes it impossible to see the preview effects, of any adjustments to parameters (such as brightness/contrast) made in the dialog box, on the image being edited. 

Is there a way to turn off this dimming / darkening behaviour?

Update: I found the problem, it was a problem caused not by Lazpaint but by the KDE plasma 6 desktop environment.
For those looking for how to solve this problem that KDE Plasma causes to Lazpaint, here's how:

Open System Settings
Under Apps and Windows group in the left pane click Window Management
Click Desktop Effects in left pane
Under the Focus group in the right pane untick Dialog Parent
Click Apply button in bottom right
