Hello,

I'm planning on using a modified version of SplashAbbout, respecting the proper credits and sending a copy to the author. Not many changes, just redisposing some elements and adding i18n.

What would be the correct way to do this?
  • install the original package and change it;
  • or make a copy of the package in my project folder, change it there and install afterwards.

I'm more inclined to the second, but... :-\

Thanks in advance.

SplashAbout is issued under an LGPL license. Use it as you wish; improve it as you will. (but please give credit)
so it looks to me you are free to do either.  If it were me, I would make a copy and add it to my project or to my common folder.  this way I have the original to compare with another download if it ever is updated.  you also keep track of your changes as well. then if you do wish to update from a new version, you have a "changes" pathway you can use as notes for your update.
