List of Pascal programmers using a paid A.I subscription
440bx:
Hello,
I think it would be "informative" to have a list of forum users who routinely use A.I both free and paid subscriptions.
If you are paying for A.I, I'd like you to make that fact known here along with any comments you may have that caused you to consider it worthwhile to pay for it.
Thank you.
Since I'm asking the question, I'll provide my answer, which will also serve as an example of the information I consider is potentially useful to know:
I currently only use the free version of Claude Code. I have found it surprisingly useful for design and brainstorming. So useful in fact, that I plan on eventually subscribing to one of Anthropic's plans. To my surprise, A.I will be the application that will literally force me to use Windows 10, which I strongly dislike or, have a full time Linux VM in order to use A.I more effectively. Most likely I'll end up with Windows 10.
The reason I believe it is worth paying for it is because the paid version can access and use your local computer, i.e, access to source code, utilities, etc and, I believe, that additional information and capability can make the tool even more effective.
Since I'm still getting my feet wet with it, I haven't yet decided how exactly I will go about it but, at this point, I see using A.I as inevitable, too useful to pass up.

I'm paying for Claude Opus 4.1 (which I'd like to quit possibly within this month).
Generally AI is quite useful, and I feel I'd better get used to it more. But not up to pay some money monthly.
It makes an overall framework quite well, but not the details.
I get help from it on writing codes of which I do not know --- like programming OpenOffice, etc.

I am strictly a hobbyist. I have been using Gemini (free version) to translate 1980's BASIC code into free pascal (console app) code, so far I've found 2 of the 3 results to be good clean code; the third one I replaced a lots of the AIs code / logic.
cheers

Using the Claude Max plan, I’ve gone from a professional developer with ~25 years’ experience to something more like an AI “overlord”, supervising a team of AI minions doing much of the heavy lifting.
The $200/month price tag might look steep at first glance, but in practice it has paid for itself many times over in productivity gains and business returns. And as a business expense, it’s even easier to justify.

Not is answer to question but is remark that this write is make imply that when not pay then this not possible and that no true. For to use Claude then can use any client as long as make same API speak.
Anthropic have tell user license that is not allow for user for use API key and other client (example openclaw) but when read restriction then is anthropic write very vague agreement (and they make same abuse of loop with own tools).
There exist many other tool and website that have access for claude (and make use api key in legit manner), have example T3-chat (theo).
Also can have run local tool when redirect and use mcp and make own tool (and not depend what is claude provide). When use agent then can have chain multiple model.
