compiled app can't run in win11
« on: January 25, 2026, 07:15:33 am »
As snaped, I compiled an app at my personal laptop. Then I copied it to my workstation of the company. When I doubled the app, attached screen showed. How to fix this problem?

tks.

Does not sound like a Lazarus issue, rather a problem in you company restrictions.
Where did you copy te app? In your user folders (Deskrop, Download, etc) or in c:\Program files\?
Did you try running it as an admin?
Does your app try to create/edit some files?

It is onedrive, which is a virtualized directory I assume.

I would be a little leery about assistance here.

First, the poster has not appeared since.

Second, I feel that maybe the poster is looking for possible info that allows execution of a file on a controlled system.

We are in an environment where HMI's and desktop computers are all over the place and users, those that have limited access to control have attempted to run games, personal software and even malware to cause havoc, usually due disgruntle activities.

Myself, I don't want to be a part of that because if this person has the access wrights to such resources, then this person should also be part of the IT team or someone with trusted access and this post should never have happened.

Or he is simply a student trying to run some FPC results from his "onedrive" that he uses as network drive to store results because the lab machines are erased if you end a session.

We must not get paranoid and identify everything as suspicious.

thanks for all....
It is copied to my onedrive based on company account. But I moved it to another fold as like C:\mydoc , it still have the same result.

I think it is about some IT's policy restrict to personal app. What is strange is: this app's very old version can run and the latest version will be restricted at the same fold.

This app is made by myself who is a building structure engineer to help my work. So I am not familiar with the company 's IT policy.

It may be the same app updated but it's not the same file and the system knows that.

You need to have IT whitelist it. Currently it's sitting in the blacklist box.

It's unlikely the problem is related to Lazarus and/or FPC.

It's almost certainly related to an IT department policy.

If the above is correct and, it's quite likely it is, then the solution is in the hands of the IT department.  No one here can solve that problem in that case.

@xinjl93,

Inform your company's IT department of the problem you are experiencing and ask them to solve it for you.

Try to send the binary file to virustotal.com. Maybe the file is infected or contain some security issue.

It is a OneDrive sync. That means it is already scanned anyway. It is more likely that it is not a good idea to run it from the OneDrive directory. Copy it over to something sane. A OneDrive directory may show the file, but may have delayed access to the actual file if it is not synced and the OneDrive file source is elsewhere.

BTW Don't advertise virustotal, it is more a cause of false positive trouble than that it does something good. He is using windows. If defender is on that is way more reliable if it is up-to-date. And then even then there is a much bigger chance of a false positive than a true infection.

If Europe sells their USA bonds the USD will collapse. Europe can affort that given average state debts. The USA can't affort that. Just an advice...

If you have the same issue with other EXE files (downloaded from Internet, etc), it is not Lazarus to blame.
