Strange Mail from memo.mind.66@gmail.com" <forumadmin@lazarus-ide.org>

Hello everybody,

I'm a regular user of Pascal Lazarus and the forum. 

I recently received 2 strange mails from "memo.mind.66@gmail.com" <forumadmin@lazarus-ide.org>

Like:

Subject: "Answer me"

"Answer me please

Thank you "

I do some research in the internet and the only thing I found is https://www.memo-mind.com/

I suppose some try to fishing or an AI bot.


Any Idea?

forumadmin@lazarus-ide.org is the address that sends out notifications, if you enabled them in your profile (such as when you got a PM, or when you watch a topic and want mail if someone replies).

But that means lots of people will have received mail from that address, and it would eventually fall into the hands of spammers too.

The address is also used for emails that anyone can send to any user that enabled "Allow users to email me" in their profile.

By enabling this option, you allow anyone to send such emails. (and if you, your mail app, or your mail server, respond to such an incoming mail - depending on the settings of you mailer - the response may be sent to their email => revealing your email address.

Open the full header plz: that will unvail where it has "originated" and that is NOT what you see,
If it is, it is legit.
Full header is an option in your mail program. (including online serviced browser based email programs like google or outlook)

Just for fun: post it here. Examples of email spoofing are always welcome here (to me).
