Hey Y'All,

Am I the only one that has noticed that in the latest release, Lazarus 4.6, the docked form editor is no longer working?

I've been installing all versions of Lazarus since 2.0.10 with fpcupdeluxe. The versions before, up to Lazarus 4.4, have no issue with the Docked Form Editor package.
My system is an Ubuntu 25.10, 64b, Wayland with Lazarus 4.6 being installed with fpcupdeluxe 2.4.0i.

EDIT: Just to make sure, using fpcupdeluxe, I re-compiled Lazarus main aka trunk and the Docked Form Editor is still working.

I would deeply appreciate some information on this, thanks!!

Cheers,
Gus

I just tested 4.6 and see no difference. What exactly is the problem?

Hey n7800,

I just tested 4.6 and see no difference. What exactly is the problem?

Hummm, something quite strange happened.

On Discord, someone hinted at the fact that maybe I had fpcupdeluxe's setting to compile all the docking things.
I remember that on my first try, I did see that it compiled it, and I thought that was OK since I had the vague recollection of having turned it on in fpcupdeluxe.
I then decided to give it another try, while having a check if the setting was on or off. Funnily, it was OFF, not ON.
I changed some other settings, cuz I needed to, deleted the initial folder and started again.
This time, it did not compile all the docking stuff. When I started Lazarus, it was not docked.
I then installed the anchor docking packages, and upon restart, it showed me the dialog to choose between Classic and Docked. I chose Docked.
I then installed the docked form editor, and upon restart, it showed me the dialog to choose between Docked and non Docked form editor. I chose Docked.

And now it's working fine...

To be honest I'm a bit confused about what happened. Not sure if there was some garbage on the settings that after me choosing some other settings just cleared out the mess.

Welp, this is solved now and it will inform me of what to do if I come across it again.

Cheers,
Gus

After an update you always rebuild the ide, after that all your added items come in.
