Probleme installing Lazarus on macOS Tahoe 26.1
« on: November 24, 2025, 09:06:44 pm »
After installing Free Pascal, I tried to install Lazarus on a Mac Mini Silicon M4 (macOS Tahoe 26.1 (25B78)) using Homebrew.
The error message I get is the following (translated from French):
"Legacy installation package. This installation package is not compatible with this version of macOS. Contact the development team for more information."

My question: Is there a workaround for this problem?

Thank you for your help.

I run into the same problem, macOS 26.1. Trying to install fpc-3.2.2-intelarm64-macosx.mpkg leads to the same error. Any hint on how to solve this?

Thanks,
Daniele

Looks like a different issue. In the case reported by OP is the fpc-3.2.2-intelarm64-macosx.mpkg package that could not be installed. A brief search returns that .mpkg is an older package installer format and the installer should be provided in the .pkg format.

Cheers,
Daniele
