IDE Watch Window colors (on error)

I'm using Lazarus 4.2 with Ubuntu 24.03. 

In the Messages window of my IDE, an error is shown in black text against a blue background, which I find hard to read.  I've tried Tools -> Options -> Message Window to change this color combination, but haven't found a way.  How can it be done?

Perhaps you could show a screenshot?

If the options you've listed don't help, it might be the OS colors. Are you using a custom theme?

Btw, can you change your topic header to "messages window"? "Watch window" is a different window.
