New book on Object Pascal
« on: November 13, 2025, 07:20:20 am »
Hello there, I'd like to share the news with you that my latest book on Object Pascal is finally on sale on Amazon.com. :D

It's not the usual manual about a programming language rather than a path that guides the reader from the fundamentals of programming up to the MVC model and OOP.
It's written in a very simple way, far from being academic and suitable for programming classes and newbies.
Moreover is totally centered around FPC and Lazarus!
Give it a try and tell me what you think about!

Hello Riccardo,

I read the sample chapter and, it looks good.

I have a suggestion (for which I don't qualify): currently your book has no reviews.  I suggest you give away about 6 copies of the book to Lazarus/FPC experts in exchange for an honest review.  It should be very easy for you to locate half a dozen experts that can give a fair review.

I believe a couple of good reviews from recognized experts would be beneficial to promoting your book.

HTH.

PS: I don't qualify because I code exclusively to the Windows API, in other words no RAD.  My editor is my "RAD".

Hello 440bx and thanks for the kind reply.
Honestly I don't know know many experts: do you have someone to suggest me? Even in a private way, if you find yourself more comfortable.
If someone, who reads this message, wants to candidate him/herself I'll be glad to send a copy, if possible.

I'm glad to hear there's a new book on Object Pascal. I've seen some others published recently too. It's a sign of the language's renewed vitality, adding to other small things, like 8th place on Tiobe this month. Another reason for my pleasure is the fact that the author is from my country.

Congratulations and thanks for your work.

That's why the book shows a Jaguar insted of a Cheetah  ;)

I don't understand the logic. The mascot of FPC is a Cheetah and the mascot of Lazarus is essentially the combination of Cheetah (for FPC) and a Greek column (for having roots in Delphi). So what would be the reason to pick a Jaguar?

It is a nicer car? Any model?
Try this for comparison:

Due to censorship, I changed this to "Nelly the Elephant". Keeps the message clear.

So a member writes a book about Pascal and instead of congrats, we're complaining about the cover? Really?
