No one seems to mention Beyond Compare. Delphi for Windows version, Lazarus for Linux and macOS version.

Not sure if made by great programmers but quite nice programs:

Xelitan zip - reads 300 archives, disk images and container formats
Xelitan Pdf Reader - reads PDF, CBZ, CBZ, JPEG and TXT files. Can remove pages from PDF documents
Xelitan Video Player - plays pretty much every audio or video file
Xelitan IMage Viewer - reads 500 image formats, including WEBP, JPEG, GIF, PNG, AVIF, TGA, PSD, PDF

It's LaTex, capital T and that was not by Donald Knuth. TeX, its predecessor, was written by Knuth, though.
