I'm glad you can do it without external dependencies.
Well, I don't know if ExtTextOut will do all combinations, and that may depend on the font actually having the emoji (the base ones), and IIRC pango combining them...

At some point, there should be alternative "TextDrawers". Then they could be chosen, by just adding them. But that needs massive refactoring of the SynEdit...

That's fine by me, I don't really use emojis in my code, and I don't think it's a priority for anyone, although it would be nice to improve emoji support.


The below work now in native SynEdit, with/without DX (except for the first thumb up / no idea why that does not / not yet debugged)
(Windows keeps them black and white but that is the same in Notepad++)
