How to install Eye Candy Controls
« on: January 13, 2017, 06:33:57 pm »
I have just downloaded the Eye Candy Controls latest version from SOURCEFORGE and would like to know how to install these new controls into the Lazarus IDE/Component Palette.

Many thanks, in advance!

And yes this is your first attempt to post it in the right forum. This forum is ok because is used to this kind of third party packages. But I already answered you in your other post.

Thanks lainz!

I missed this on the wiki...

In case someone else needs to know:

Install to Lazarus
Open menu Package => Open package File (*.lpk) ... and select file eccontrols.lpk. Click Compile (wait a while) and then Use >> Install. Lazarus will ask you "Do you want to rebuild Lazarus now?". Click Yes to install the package.

I tested this with the package distributed by OPM. Yes, the package does not compile. The problem is in unit ECSwitch where the function CompareMethods is not found. This method has been deprecated and must be replaced by SameMethod.
