Our wiki has (during the last couple of days) been "attacked" by "scrappers".

That is some companies send robots/scripts to collect the content, but they ignore the "robots.txt" and as those companies can afford server-clouds way bigger than we could even dream to have, the basically DDOS us.

This has in the past month happen to many projects. For us it has affected our wiki and forum.

Our admins do their best to mitigate those attacks. But we are fighting Goliath.


There seems to be an attack right now. So anyone, anywhere may currently get intermittent errors on our wiki.

But also, last I heard there was a network that attacked using IP from China. This does unfortunately force us to ban some Chinese traffic. That is, some innocent people from China may be caught in the crossfire. Sorry.

If you are from China, and persistently (over more than 24 hours) can not access the wiki, then contact our admin on the fpc mail list. (Unless he responds here too / not sure if he will see this)

Why dont you use Cloudflare?

The software used on the servers is not even hidden. It should not be exposed. IMHO you should switch to nginx.

Because we don't want to be dependant on such a service.
