Hi all,
I'd like to inform that the new versions of mxMarkEdit, a free software for Mac written in Lazarus to create documents in Markdown format, tasks and simple databases, now can work also as reference (bibliographic) manager. It could be a very simple alternative to Zotero and Mendeley for those users who have to write dissertations, articles or books, but are not interested in learning and using a full featured app.
mxMarkEdit can be used also to give presentations of a Markdown text in a very simple and straightforward way.
The app is notarized and works only on Macs with Silicon chips, but there's also an Intel-compiled version, which is not notarized nor tested.
In the website of the app,
https://github.com/maxnd/mxMarkEdit, there's a detailed manual (the Readme.md file), which is replicated in a pdf manual available in
https://github.com/maxnd/mxMarkEdit/raw/main/manuals/mxmarkedit-user-manual-en.pdf.
Finally, there's a forum for all mxMarkEdit users in
https://groups.google.com/g/mxmarkedit. It's a place to ask questions and share ideas and ways to make the most of the app.
I hope it can be useful to somebody out there.
Massimo
