This is simply an example of the economic phenomenon called "externality".

DDNS or a scraping, unmannered, bot. ( which are technically the same)
Changing servers. thaddy.com may be temporary unreachable but restored when the domain name transfer is done.

Again AI-scraping bots. See this thread on the mailing list.

Personally, I would find it very difficult to trust the "suggestions" from any entity that has such blatant disregard for proper behavior.

(FPC v3.0.4 and Lazarus 1.8.2) or (FPC v3.2.2 and Lazarus v3.2) on Windows 7 SP1 64bit.

It was a busy day. One bot, identified as a chatgpt one. That one was easy to block.
At the same time some DDoS or some unidetified scraper was loading all topics from all over the world. Luckily in a recognizable pattern not used by regular users. The blocking script was blocking IPs at a rate of 20 per second for hours.
Those blocks are aggregated every 5 min  to complete subnets. Unfortunately calculating those subnets took a lot of time due to the huge amount. So a bunch of those scripts were running the same time bringing the server down.
After fixing that everything came back online

I was searching (SVG rendering) using Google and found my posts were coming up in the search listings (and also in unrelated posts and some sort of ratings pages). Thought it was a bit odd. It happened when the forum was dreadfully slow and also I was getting ~ error 503).

Looks as though search engines are incorrectly/aggressively indexing posts from the forum and also possibly some DDoS happening.

Just for the record, I've noticed that Google seems to be indexing the forums again.

that said, I have no idea if its spider is a good netizen or not.

Which gave some surprisingly combinatory good results.

I manage the Google bot through their site. I requested indexing since a lot of pages weren't indexed.
