dmg may contain virus

i downloaded the dmg for lazarus 3.8 64 bit, but mac says: i can not run it, because it may contain a virus, on Mac 15.3
i have this message even on other programs and games.
can it installed, and how are the steps?
is without terminal possible, so only dmg?

It's not that it may contain a virus, but that it hasn't been codesigned and notarized (you have to pay Apple a yearly fee to be able to do that, and apart from the fact that you paid them, it doesn't prove anything).

Thank you Jonas, that is useful information.

I'd like to point out that a malware writer, who stands to make a lot of money from his project, is quite likely to pay Apple a signing fee. On the other hand, I make no money from my project (and don't want to) and cannot justify paying an arbitrary fee to Apple.

While the barrier to be able to sign is no more that a fee, it means nothing !

with the first method i got the dmg to install, but than i had a terminal-window and the config of
lazarus. he is asking for a fpc or approximativ ppcx64. both i did not found in the whole tree.
and up is the menu of the terminal-program and not lazarus and i do not know how to open
something else than the unit, like dll or exe?
