MAC refuse ti rebuild IDE when a new package is installed
« on: February 03, 2025, 05:53:59 pm »
Hi group,

I use Lazarus pascal for years on Linux and Windows but recently I have a MAC book pro M4, Lazarus installs no issues, compile a program no issues. But when I install a package from online package manager it compiles but I get a error when rebuild IDE this is the error : Error: -macosx_version_min has been renamed to -macos_version_min

MacBook Pro Sequoia 15.3

Can someone help me to solve this issue?

Best and thanks,

Johan

It's funny that you created a topic on the forum instead of just searching for it ))

It's not that funny for sure I read this ..... but is this the way how we must work with Lazarus Pascal?

I think there must be a better solution than copy and paste, perhaps there is a other smart idea?

Thanks,
Johan

Unfortunately, I don't even have MacOS, so I can only judge by the answers in these threads.

To be clear, by "copy and paste" you mean this advice?

But when I install a package from online package manager it compiles but I get a error when rebuild IDE

Does the error occur when installing any package from OPM, or a specific one? Perhaps this is a bug in the package itself.

No not your reply that's good! , but the solution I mean. I use Lazarus for many years see my projects what I made but it seems that MAC is not a good partner for Lazarus Pascal. Struggling with code is good that's what we do but not with an installation as try and error. My problem is still not solved .... Lazarus works and  I can compile but I can not install new packages like serial or industrial etc, it compiles but when rebuilding the IDE I get the error what I mentioned in the first question. Thanks anyway!

And then I compiled from source and all works perfect with my new Mac Book Pro M4. So it was possible in the end.

hi, Johan

if the version of Xcode is >=15.0, you need the latest FPC (fpc Main Trunk).

FPC was just updated three months ago to improve compatibility with XCode 15+.
