Looking For Lazarus Tutor – US / Michigan / Ann Arbor
« on: January 18, 2025, 10:00:08 pm »
Given the above pinpoint geography, this is the proverbial “needle in a haystack” search. However, it seems prudent to start my search here on this (worldly) forum. Locally, I will make an attempt to see what’s available; rustle the bushes.

Background. I have intermediate-level proficiency in Pascal. Spun from a 1984 community-college class, I have written numerous programs in the text-mode IDE. However, I recognize the GUI version editor (Lazarus) is much nicer to work with -- and would be a boon for me going forward. In short, there is value in that investment (new editor vs. old).

My programming need phased-out about the time Lazarus was coming onto the scene (2014). I’m not sure how the old guard learned the software, but my recent learning attempt via computer tutorials was a bust. By that method -- I’m not a good-learner. Old dog; new tricks......

Which has brought me to pursue a paid personal tutor. If I could enroll in a hands-on weekly class at my local college -- I would readily do that. But given the situation, and the uniqueness of the product, I will be best-served by the efficiency of a teacher.

It’s a long shot. Applicants (and thoughts) welcome......
Thank you,
MrPink

MrPink

You need many parallel way
way1=you update the old-code source
way2=you hire me, to update your-code to lazarus.
way3=you cannot learn Lazarus and update your old-code-pascal. Perhaps you hire other to update.
way4=you make a team with other to update your-old-code-pascal.

Hi.

You might need to broaden your horizons a bit. We live in a global world now.

Don't look for just local. With today's tech you could find a tutor anywhere. Expand your search, to start with, to people within several time zones of you (for scheduling convenience). Then if you find someone, just use one of the many remote means to connect (MS Teams, TeamViewer, any VNC type viewer, etc.)
