IDE Problems on OSX

I don't know whether these are OSX specific, or AArch64 specific, or specific to me but:

1. The IDE crashes hard if I do a search in files with scope = project group - just disappears. Sometimes I get a Mac debug dump, but usually not
2. Run without Debugging never works. Is it supposed to?

(Lazarus 4.0RC1 (rev Unknown) FPC 3.2.2 aarch64-darwin-cocoa on Mac M1 Max, 64GB ram)

My recent findings with Lazarus 4.1 from source on macOS 14.7.6 Intel  are:


* no crash and IDE executes nicely with a.m. project group search
* confirmed - the IDE GUI does not accept the 'none' setting for the debugger
My environment was:

* Lazarus 4.1 (rev Unknown) FPC 3.2.2 x86_64-darwin-cocoa
* the tbz archive of lazarus-fixes_4 copy take from GitLab was dated 15 Jul 2025 20:49

Looks very similar to issue #40939. But it seems like it should have been solved in your version...
