Combined search field in the helpview tool

(1/2) > >>

_Antares_:
I really appreciate the extensive and very useful contextual help function available.

The problem is that finding a topic with no contextual starting point involves knowledge about where to look for it. Like: Do I have to use the LCL tab or some of the others. In the worst case you need to check each tab and use the search or index function to look for a certain topic several times. Which is time consuming and tedious.

Something like a combined/global search field which queries all available chm-files on each of the tabs and presenting the results would be so great and helpful! :-[

ALLIGATOR:
I agree, I miss that option sometimes too 👍

marcov:
The textmode IDE does combine indexes

Zoran:
First I didn't understand the problem, it works for me in LHelp.
Then I realized that it doesn't work if LHelp opens the files in separate tabs, which I don't think is useful anyway, so turn it off!

See the attached image, uncheck "open new file in separate tab", then close LHelp (really close, when it asks if you really want...). When you open it next time it will work.

_Antares_:
@Zoran: Holy moly! Thank you sooooooo much! :D
Yes indeed, the "open in separate tabs" option is the default setting, therefore I had like 10 separate tabs. Now I can search "globally" all indexes in one - awesome!
