Package File Not Found
« on: November 02, 2024, 05:27:27 pm »
I manually deleted Indy from my config_lazarus>onlinepackagemanager>packages folder as the only way I could find to remove all of the Indy icons from my IDE (Package>Install/Uninstall package did not work).

Now when I start the lazarus IDE, I get the message "Package file not found: The package "indylaz" is installed by no valid package file (.lpk) was found.  A broken dummy package was created."

What do I need to do to finish removing "indylaz" from my lazarus 3.2?

Package:Install/Uninstall

Select the package that is a problem on the left pan, and select the Uninstall Selection button, then you will see a button down at the right to rebuild and restart the IDE.

That information is stored in packagefiles.xml. You can manual edit it, but remember to make a backup first.

Thank you both.

I didn't find "indylaz" in either the .xml file or the left panel of the menu item Package>Install/Uninstall.  I picked a different package I never use from the Install/Uninstall panel and uninstalled it though, and that let me request a rebuild and restart of the ide.  This did the job

You can go to TOOLS:
Look at the last two options, you can rebuild there also.

Thanks -- good to know.  I'd worry though about what "normal" means .

I'd worry though about what "normal" means .
"Normal IDE" you meant ?

One menu item below that is an item named "configure build lazarus" and shows the details about what "normal" entails (and also allows to create your own custom profiles).
