ODBC-Connection - Accessing with a local dll
« on: September 27, 2024, 02:10:55 pm »
Hi Folks,

quick question: Does anyone know if it's possible to use an ODBC-Connection with a local dll?
Target-OS: Windows 10 - 64Bit, though my Program might end up being 32-Bit
Target-DB: IBM DB2
I'd like to avoid INSTALLING the client-lib on each computer just to have an entry in the ODBC-Manager.

Or could a "specialized" User-DSN be an Option?
"Specialized" = Changing the path to the dll in the Registry
One System to rule them all, One Code to find them,
One IDE to bring them all, and to the Framework bind them,
in the Land of Redmond, where the Windows lie
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Code is like a joke: If you have to explain it, it's bad
