I think that the lazarus ide should be made more robust so that disasters the require lfm files to be fixed.

In that case submit bug reports and patches. I'd suggest that a good start would be to work with Thaddy to identify the preexisting patches that he said would fix the problems.

That sounds like a great idea. Does Thaddy know about this ? 
Actually I would like to have people to chat with when I find bugs but unfortunately I have none. Since I don’t have other people to test the bugs with me they don’t get reported.

But you explicitly said earlier in this discussion

In Delphi any refactoring with e.g. ctrl-shift-E is done properly, meaning both the code and the resource are kept in sync. This is still not the case in FreePascal/Lazarus although bug reports regarding that issue are over 15 years old. That is a bit strange, because all the code needed to implement it is already present.

I am sure that the IDE maintainers would very much appreciate it if you could pull references to "all the code needed" together into a single bug report.

there don’t seem to be very many people around to do much of anything. Hardly anyone to chat with about pascal anymore.
