I think those images look quite nice.

There is one thing I would do differently (if I had any artistic talent, which I don't) and that is, putting an image of Blaise Pascal along with the cheetah and a broken chain to denote the free (and freedom) that comes with FPC and Lazarus.

Maybe a collage of those three images.

(FPC v3.0.4 and Lazarus 1.8.2) or (FPC v3.2.2 and Lazarus v3.2) on Windows 7 SP1 64bit.

Thank you, this was a rush job so not perfect but will give Davo something to work with  ;)

Have a look at the attached images  :)

Everyone has some form of talent. ( Something they do exceedingly well ). I believe in your case one of your skills is helping folks who have questions about Lazarus and Free pascal on this forum? Which is far more valuable than any artistic talent.

I recently found out the hard way that one of my 'hidden talents' was 'how to upset the community big time'. I actually had the balls to suggest getting some feedback on the 'brand' splash logo I decided to shine and polish. Sure it looked pretty and I have been called many things in my life but never Emperor and it took some effort for me to swallow my pride and realize one does not mess with something that has been there since the beginning. ( It is all good and I have been forgiven and I think sometimes we envy others for their skills without realizing we also have skills but in different areas. )

IIRC, some of our logos underwent some change. But small enough, so the general ability to recognize them remained. (hopefully it did).
E.g. https://gitlab.com/freepascal.org/lazarus/lazarus/-/commit/d0e4914408c7e6c14d02c436def0845e8f03106d
You worked on this two years ago ( I should have known.. )

@martin_fr I am curious about your avatar. Where is this place?

Could you make a better image ?
See if you like the attached images.

I think they both look great ! But ...

Maybe a too big still ?  The one I am using now is 200x126 and while your ones can be reduced down appropriately, they seem to loose the sharpness of the original when I do that.

And I think the wording "Free Pascal" (and perhaps "Lazarus") needs to be a bit more prominent.

I have attached a three image montage, showing the image I use now, your #2 scaled to be similar and your #2 original, for comparison.

But nice work !

Personally I'd very strongly oppose the use of AI generated imagery in any final results (if anyone had that in mind). Apart from it being painfully obvious (look at the faces!) and lazy (if in the final product - prototyping might be fine), generative AI is immensely controversial among artists. The models are trained on anything they can find, all without the artist's consent. Using AI simply wouldn't look good - both literally and figuratively.

I concur with Khrys. – Are all Lazarus issues solved, by the way?

Hi @Khrys all your concerns are legit and noted, thank you for shedding some light on the generative AI's model ( I had no idea how they trained the models )

The thing is this, This is Davo's code right? He wrote the app and now he wishes to give some credit to the tools that allowed him to build the app in the first place which is free pascal and Lazarus right? Soo, since this is his personal repo and has nothing to do with fpc or lazarus and he wishes to have a logo that is AI generated and is happy and comfortable with it, who are we to say hell NO? That is my thinking I may be wrong ( as is usual for me these days ) if we give attribution and cite teh AI used to generate the content that transparency hopefully will steer us clear of any liabilities or law suits? I feel ultimately it is up to the person who wrote the code. Let he/she decide which way they want to go?

Oh my goodness you lucky man. This has been on our list of places to visit for a long long time. There is a bus tour company that offers trips to Las Vegas and Grand Canyon from Toronto but it is kind of pricey for me. I have attached some info. $1380 right now is beyond me :-(

Hello @Kays Thank you for sharing your perspective. As I mentioned previously if the code in question is not related to the official FPC or Lazarus repositories and is simply a personal project where the creators are content with AI-generated content—even if it includes less-than-ideal visuals—then it seems acceptable, provided we are adhering to legal guidelines and not causing any emotional distress.

I'm in no position to dictate anyone what to do, I was just sharing an opinion  :)
Utilizing AI-generated content is a moral issue, not a legal one... unless you're one of the companies training the models. I just find it kinda sad how the vision of AI automating menial tasks so people can focus on being creative seems to be coming true in the exact opposite way, sucking the soul out of art while leaving real artists starving.

From the first image in Lazarus like bluish colors I like only the head, but I do not like demonic look that gives an eye without a pupil:
https://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,68189.msg526406.html#msg526406

I also like the jumping cheetah from:
https://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,68189.msg526505.html#msg526505

The rest I do not like at all, but that is subjective.
ct2laz - Conversion between Lazarus and CodeTyphon
bithelpers - Bit manipulation for standard types
pasettimino - Siemens S7 PLC lib

Hi @Khrys remember THIS ?

Your response was incredibly helpful and made a significant difference. Without your guidance, I might still be searching for a solution. Your expertise and input on this and future issues are highly valuable to me, as they not only help resolve problems but also contribute to my learning process.

When someone has knowledge and notices that others could benefit from it, it's a challenging decision whether to share that expertise or remain silent. I appreciate your willingness to assist and understand that, while intentions are good, there can sometimes be misunderstandings. Your support has been greatly appreciated and has had a positive impact. ( So if you feel like dictating or anything else you go right ahead and we will take it in the spirit it is meant in. It is all good!)

I wish I had an answer for this @Khrys sadly there will always be people who make a living by exploiting others. I wish things were different and I feel your pain.

Thank GEMINI I did very little  8-)
