aggpas Component License
(1/1)
cstreece:
My company will not allow installation of Lazarus because the aggpas component license is free for non-commercial use only.
Are you aware of this?
Thanks
Thaddy:
It isn't. It just requires a copyright notice.

I think it's about gpc.pas. From lazarus\components\aggpas\readme.txt:

Anti-Grain Geometry - Version 2.4 Release Milano 3 (AggPas 2.4 RM3)

License: 3-clause BSD license - free for open source and commercial software
or GPL.
with the exception of aggpas/gpc/gpc.pas which has a "not free for commercial use",
and is not used/compiled by default.

See lazarus\components\aggpas\gpc\copying.txt.
Thaddy:
They should update their license page.
--- Quote --- License: 3-clause BSD license - free for open source and commercial software
or GPL.
with the exception of aggpas/gpc/gpc.pas which has a "not free for commercial use",
and is not used/compiled by default.

is not visible there. anyway, few exceptions and it is not even compiled by default.
The license page does not mention 3-clause bsd, but it is 3-clause bsd conformant: free, but the copyright should be mentioned in both binary or adapted sourcecode distributions.
