Re: multi topic threads... opt in/out (SPLIT OFF)
Josh:
Hi All,
I pop on here as and when I have time.
I noticed this post, looked interesting ' Forum is so SLOOOW... Again! '
1st half page of posts related to topic, then pages (6) of off topic posts, that i did not read thoroughly but wasted my time reading things that i was not interested in. finally thaddy brings it back on topic a few posts back to no avail.
I would personally like for users not post off topic as it makes lazarus search function pointless, and search egines will populate the off topic posts in with data that relates to the topic.
If users want to post off topic, create a new topic. That is how it is done in the commercial world, and some companies i work for absolutely ban off topic posts in forum or 'zendesk' type services because things get missed.
I do not normally post these tyes of things ( if you want check my history ), but these types of off topic, accusing with no proof is bad reading.
False accusation is a civil/criminal offense in most countries, and I do NOT want Lazarus/FPC to get caught in a legal 'aiding and abetting case'.
I have said my piece, and will not be responding or reading this topic further.
note to mods.
can i block a topic from showing? I could then filter this kind of stuff out when I notice it, I do not want to report them.

Unfortunately no.
Thaddy:
Well, it makes your life easier? instead of "other" a "/dev/null" for fruity and fruitfull discussions? So yes, I proposed it and I am all for it.
Martin_fr:
And splitted one more time...
dbannon:
Ah, Martin, I feel for you !
Would you be better just locking it ? Its not going anywhere, no one is going to change their minds, and its getting just a bit too 'tense' !
