GIT in Lazarus IDE
« on: August 22, 2024, 05:26:38 pm »
Has there been any thought to integrating the GIT API into the actual IDE structure?  If I understand correctly, to use GIT now, you have to do it outside the IDE, in a command line, or separate APP.   Given that FPC-Laz source is now in GIT repositories.  It would be useful if users code and projects could be managed in local repos via the IDE itself.  I have just an inkling of the amount of work (maybe 5-10 min?) involved, but long term it would be major benefit to all the users (and maybe developers).

Thanks.  I will look into GitWizard.  But I was thinking along the lines of having the Git functions built into the IDE's menus/functions;  which I supect is a massive job.  But somebody is giving it a shot. Thanks again.

So basically you mean committing/pushing from within the IDE? Agree, that would be very useful, especially for those who can't stomach using git in command line.
