Latest version ?

I am new to Lazarus but used a lot of Delphi before.
Now using Ubuntu 24.04 and found 3.0+dfsg1-8build3 in Synaptic Package Manager.'
Latest line in change log is from 1 APril 2024.
But here https://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,67439.0.html

it talks about version 3.4 so big difference.
Is tae package managers really so slow to update or is 3.4 some kind of beta release ?

No, even numbers are releases, uneven numbers are either fixes or not officially released.
btw: your version is very old. Current debians install at least 3.2 and even that is old.
That does not mean it is not usuable. It is.
