« on: March 12, 2024, 05:29:15 pm »
Is this a good update for Lazarus developers using TDbf?

Well, looks like something we can write in less than a week, so: no.
objects are fine constructs. You can even initialize them with constructors.

The best update for any developer would be for dbf to die out.....
One System to rule them all, One Code to find them,
One IDE to bring them all, and to the Framework bind them,
in the Land of Redmond, where the Windows lie
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Code is like a joke: If you have to explain it, it's bad

Unfortunally there is too much data stored in dbf format (any format dbf, there are many).
That means that to access that, we need support for it.
But I agree that a sane developer would never use any of the dbf formats in new projects.

Then again, the record and memo formats are really simple except for the indexes across the different formats.
