Hi
zeljko, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!    8-)
Thank you for the effort, It works like a charm now.
I've just followed your resolution and then recompiled lazarus, everything is "Pico Bello" I then tested it on all the projects I could lay my hand on, forwards and backwards... IT JUST WORKS!
I'm sorry for taking so much of your time, but glad I did  ;)
Now Linux, KDE & Lazarus are all 'Happy Campers'  :D
edit: I'll mark this solved and, with your permission, copy your answer to the first post in this thread, so that is the first people see, if the search for it...

Dzięki
Regards Benny

If it ain't broke, don't fix it ;)
PCLinuxOS(rolling release) 64bit -> KDE6 -> FPC 3.2.2 -> Lazarus 4.0 up until Jan 2025 from then on it's both above &: KDE6/QT6 -> FPC 3.3.1 -> Lazarus 4.99

Wow! Thanks Zeljko, unchecking "IDE title shows project directory" really helped.
Mostly Lazarus trunk and FPC 3.2 on Manjaro Linux 64-bit.

I reply to this old thread because things have changed concerning the IDE title with QT.
There is no more "IDE title shows project directory" checkbox. Instead there is "Custom IDE Title" and you can select from the list eg. "$project(TitleNew) $EncloseBracket($project(infodir))" or you can type your title.
I guess it works because the project directory does not start the title. It has the project name first.
I wanted the project directory there. It is the easiest way to see which project is open. For example many of my test projects are called "Project1".

BTW, I didn't implement this feature. Martin did.

Earlier question that I didn't notice:
Juha, do you see the other two problems I see ?  Attached image is how it opens every time, Lazarus windows all centered. And the mouse cursor icons are all over the place. But both problems go away if I switch it to use X11 instead of Wayland.
You also saw an AV when opening a project with a gtk2 build. I never saw that.
I also don't use Wayland and haven't seen its problems. I don't do much distro hopping or testing any more. I am happy if my Manjaro Linux works without issues.

Thanks Juha  :)
Yup it works =^ (thumb's up)
Just like you, I'm running X, 'cause our 'Sith-Lord' of the distro 'TexStar' has deemed 'Wayland' too unstable and _not_ finished / ready yet, for 'prime time'...
Actually my setup works like a dream  8-)

Note that trunk is fixed, so it can contain dir or filename in title. https://gitlab.com/freepascal.org/lazarus/lazarus/-/commit/f83078ff6169f6c417a2a483a92463164842d257 , also it is merged to fixes4 so lazarus4 already contains this fix afair.

Please give TexStar my compliments. Sadly, not all my users use PCLinux. I think I would if only he'd decide it was a either an 'apt' system or an 'rpm' system ;-)

Wayland seems more stable now then when this thread was started but it is still missing important stuff.  With Ubuntu saying "if you really need that stuff, go elsewhere" its getting serious.

But nice tweaks to get project directory in title bar again. Thanks all !

When our(PCLinuxOS') servers are up 'n running again -- David, who hosts/houses all our servers had a fire and the /serverfarm/ burnt down --
you should consider having a 'LookSee' at the "PCLinuxOS-Debian-Edition", it's a community project, side by side with the "Real McCoy", but based off of Debian (with apt) ...and with the giant debian-repo.
Just a little tip for ya  ;)
Stay happy mate  8-)
