Central package/component repository
« on: March 25, 2009, 11:28:02 am »
Just by coincedence I found the lazgradient component from wile64.
Leledumbo made a reference to the gifanim component from the same source.
I had been looking for just that for a long time already.

Which brings me to the only thing I really miss on this website/forum: a central repository from where lazarus users can download all available components for Lazarus.
Now some are on SourceForge, some on private sites and some on this website.
Would it be a good idea to "harvest" all packages and components and place them on a central place somewhere on this website with a link in the lefthand menu to visit this repository?
I think it would be a great addition to this website and be welcomed by most Lazarus users.

Just a thought.

 :)

Yes something like that but than more up-to-date.
Although looking closely now I indeed do see Wile64 on that page.
So I stand corrected  :-[
But maybe a direct link from the lefthand side menu to this page would make the website complete (Downloads - Daily Snapshots - Components).

Nothing to complain further ...... using the latest Lazarus snapshot is a joy to work with.
Looking back two years I think Lazarus has come a long way and is a very competent and professional program now.
The need to use Delphi is getting less and less!
