How to put it in a separate tab like in Delphi

afaik by default not possible to do with Lazarus. I do not know if there is an IDE plugin that can do it though.

I like the idea of having the components tree in a separate tab. If the current Object Inspector window were permanently changed and the component tree was separated into a separate tab, I would appreciate such a change.
Lazarus 4.2 with FPC 3.2.2, Windows 11 — all 64-bit

Working solo on a top-down retro-style action/adventure game (pixel art), programming the engine from scratch, using Free Pascal and SDL3.

I used to feel this way, until someone pointed out that toggling "Show Component Tree" collapses it down to a drop-down list control. This reclaims the space on the Object Inspector, and can be restored by checked "Show Component Tree" on the context menu when you really need it.
