Martin_fr, было бы неплохо, если можно будет вернуть возможность редактирования первого сообщения. И, благодарю за информацию и рассмотрение данной ситуации!

Google translate:
Martin_fr, it would be nice if it would be possible to return the ability to edit the first message. And thank you for the information and consideration of this situation!  :)

And yes, in the past you were able to edit the message even though it was older than 6 weeks. Then we had a particular bad spam attack, and the rule was added.
Да, я правил первое сообщение несколько раз, и в очередной выпуск ZenGL решил так же подправить его. Что стало для меня неожиданностью.

Google translate:
Yes, I corrected the first post several times, and in the next release of ZenGL I decided to correct it as well. Which came as a surprise to me.

I enabled it again. We have to see if this works or if it needs to be turned on again.

[…] The problem is, that spammers may post a topic that is all good (ask some real Pascal question). Then a year later, they change it to spam. There is no notification, and one reads the topic, so it will never be noted...

And the setting is global. It can't be made for "New member" only. (Only exception is moderators and admins).
Disable editing defeats the purpose of using dedicated forum software. I mean, if editing should not be possible, why not use (email) mailing lists? Or usenet groups? There messages cannot be amended either. You need to send out a new message for corrections.

And yes, in the past you were able to edit the message even though it was older than 6 weeks. Then we had a particular bad spam attack, and the rule was added.
Certainly I understand the rationale, but I would appreciate a prominent note “YOU CANNOT EDIT YOUR POSTS ONCE SUBMITTED.” (yes, in all-caps, in the vicinity of the “Post” button) should you withdraw modification privileges again. (And I’m afraid you will eventually.)
Yours Sincerely
Kai Burghardt
