Assembler as not found ... Fatal

Hi,

i download lazarus on 2 computers with mandrake 9.1. On the fist, all is correct , but on the second, when i want run a project, i obtain:

Unit1.pas(31) Error: Assembler as not found, switching to external assembling
Unit1.pas(31) Fatal: There were 1 error compiling module, stopping  

I don't find any thing about it in faq, forums,...

Maybe somebody has an idea?

Some questions to get a better understanding of your problem:

Is that all the output you get?

Do you have the gnu binutils installed and on your path?

What  is the output of the command "which as"?

Hi Vincent,

you found the problem: binutils was not installed.
It's done now, and units are successfull compiled.
