I NEVER move Lazarus because of the expected problems with (absolute) paths. Instead I use fpcupdeluxe as an installation tool which is also able to install multiple Lazarus installations side by side.
Creates much less problems than trying to do it myself. In addition, fpcupdeluxe also offers many other installation variants which are all done very stable.
