Is a JSON exporter available for fpspreadsheet?
My spreadsheet contains only text data.

What does the "export" refer to? Export a spreadsheet to JSON? No - not available. Export a JSON to fpspreadsheet? If you can regard the JSON as a TDataset (--> TJSONDataset), use the laz_fpspreadsheetexport_visual package.

I do not use fpspreadsheet very much, but isn't there an intermediate solution using csv (TcsvDataSet)? That would solve both read and write..
Btw: when I use it, it is extremely good, but I do not need it too often, so I may be wrong.

Writing code in an overly complex way is usually merely a complete misunderstanding of the goal you are trying to achieve.
