New internal edging system

A new version of the Lazarus picture and video editing program VirtualU is available for download. The first web address below
downloads temp15.zip which contains the VirtualU files. The second address downloads readme.rtf which contains loading
instructions and developmental log reports that contain information about new versions, corrections, new features and tools.
The folder containing VirtualU is portable and makes no connections to the host computer except to use and return memory.
VirtualU's new appearance is much less art deco and more up to date than it previously was.
*We are pleased to announce that a new internal edging tool ("Tools\Use Internal Edge Softening") has been added to the edge
softening page. This tool is the capstone of the edge softening page and completes the suite of edging tools. It works well and the
increased extra processing time is not too much as long as several simple and easy rules are followed.
*Some buttons on the Custom page have been moved to other places on that page and all buttons relating to the Cartoon process
have been moved to a new menu item titled "Toon". Other changes have also been made to the Custom page.
*New features and tools have been added to the edge softening page and other areas of VirtualU.
*Numerous improvements and a few corrections have been made to the program which now includes some new tools such as a
magnifying glass, new edging page tools and a tool for building AVI movies.
*We have taken extra effort to tweak the SoftType edging system in general, especially the SoftType Secondary method. The
current revised SoftType system does a much better job than previous versions. We will continue in the future to tweak the
SoftType edging system though it currently does okay on most images.
The December 21st log report in readme.rtf contains more details.
Thank you Lazarus and Merry Christmas.

The attached picture blob1.gif shows a raster scan image after all its previous edge softening has been removed via an increase
in contrast. The picture blob2.gif shows that image after VirtualU internal and external edge softening have been applied to it.
