Why my KOL Component only can be seen at design time?

Hi,

Now I'm trying to write a kol component just to draw a line.
But it can only be seen at design time not at run-time.
I have to write some code to make it draw a line.
I can't figure out why.
Can't it be WhatYouSeeIsWhatYouGet?

Any suggestion ?
