LNET installation problem -- Lazarus 1.7, Ubuntu 16.04

Has anyone here installed the LNET package with version 1.7 of lazarus under Ubuntu?  I haven't been able to get it to install, getting error message "lazarus.pp(154,1)  Error: Error while linking >

Any clues appreciated

Solved.

In the interest of helping anyone else that may encounter this problem in future:  you must install the libgtk2.0-dev package in Ubuntu 16.04.  Then LNET will install as a package in lazarus per the usual routine.
