Yes, the SQLDB components are maintained.

Did you use fpc 2.0.4 or 2.1.5? 2.1.5 have some improvements and bug fixes.

Wether Zeos is better, I don't know.

Just downloaded yesterday's snapshot (20070605) with fpc 2.0.4 (Lazarus-0.9.23-fpc-2.0.4-20070605-win32.exe).

Are you telling me that there is differences in LCL between fpc versions?

Regards.

No, the LCL is pretty much the same. But the database componets (for example sqldb) is part of the FCL, which is part of fpc.

For windows there fpc 2.1.5 based snapshots.

To get a good picture of the changes 2.1.4 is good enough.

I started to explore Lazarus 0.9.22 (fpc 2.0.4) with ZEOS 6.6.1 beta, and it seems to be quite stable and feature rich.
When I tried to do it a year ago, it was a nightmare, but now it works very nice.
With SQLdb, on the contrary, I realized some problems regarding passing parameters to SQLQuery. Also, it seems to be limited in functionality, when comapring to Zeos.I suppose, it is better to rely on ZEOS, especially because it provides more components, properties and methods.
For example, you can create master/detail forms very easily in the same way like in Delphi, using Zeos. I think there is no such feature in SQLDb...
Anyway, it is just my temporarily impression:)

Zlatko
